# Ashoka AI Privacy Policy

At Ashoka AI, privacy is not a feature — it’s the foundation. We built our platform with a "Privacy First" philosophy: no login required, no personal data stored on remote servers, and all sensitive processing secured on your device.

## 1. Introduction

Your trust is earned through transparency and restraint. Ashoka AI does not require accounts, does not track users, and does not build profiles. What happens on your device stays on your device — unless you choose otherwise.

## 2. What Data We Collect (and What We Don’t)

We collect **no personal information** by default.

- ✅ Your inputs and outputs remain entirely on your device during local processing.  
- ✅ Optional cloud features (e.g., large-model inference) use end-to-end encryption and ephemeral data handling — inputs are deleted immediately after processing.  
- ❌ We do **not** store conversations, usage logs, device identifiers, location data, IP addresses, or browsing history.  
- ❌ We do **not** use cookies, trackers, or analytics scripts.

## 3. Biometric Authentication & PIN Security

For optional local access control:

- Biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello) and PINs are handled exclusively by your operating system’s secure enclave or keychain.  
- Credentials are never transmitted, logged, or stored on Ashoka AI servers.  
- You retain full control — disable or revoke access anytime via device settings.

## 4. AI Processing

- **On-device AI**: Where supported, models run locally using your hardware (e.g., Apple Neural Engine, Android NNAPI).  
- **Cloud AI (opt-in only)**: When needed for advanced capabilities, data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3+) and purged from memory and disk within <100ms of inference completion.  
- **No training data**: Your inputs are never used to train or improve AI models — ours or anyone else’s.

## 5. Permissions

Ashoka AI requests only permissions essential to functionality — and only when needed:

- Camera: For document scanning or visual input (revocable anytime).  
- Microphone: For voice-to-text (active only during recording).  
- Storage: To save exports or preferences locally (never uploaded without consent).  

All permissions are granular, optional, and fully controllable through your OS.

## 6. Third-Party Services

We integrate sparingly and intentionally:

- Cloud inference providers (e.g., secure model endpoints) are contractually bound to our Privacy Addendum — prohibiting data retention, reuse, or sharing.  
- Font and CDN assets (e.g., Tailwind, Inter font) are loaded over HTTPS with no tracking.  
- We do **not** use advertising networks, SaaS analytics, or behavioral monitoring tools.

## 7. Children’s Privacy

Ashoka AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and we comply with COPPA and GDPR-K requirements. Parents may contact us to request deletion of any inadvertently collected information.

## 8. Policy Updates & Contact

We will notify users of material changes via in-app banner and email (if provided voluntarily). The most current version is always available at `ashoka.ai/privacy`.
